About Us

Our Story

We are Kurt and Leigh Anne Walker, residents of Dyer County, TN, where faith, family, and livestock play a significant role in our lives. Both of our mothers also reside in Dyer County. We have 6 children, 4 grandchildren, 2 sons-in-law, and 1 daughter-in-law, some living nearby in West Tennessee, while others reside in Middle and East Tennessee. We also have 2 sisters and a brother-in-law. We are blessed and grateful to have each of them in our lives.

Our families have a long history in agriculture spanning over a century. This property has a storied history that has served other functions previously. Despite pursuing other professional occupations, we have always been drawn to ranch life. A transformative trip out west in 2015 inspired us to pursue our dream of ranch living without regrets. The Roellen Ranch is now a cattle operation and our home. Our favorite pastimes are being with our grandchildren and sitting in rocking chairs at sunset while the horses and cattle peacefully graze.

“It’s not dying I’m talking about, it’s living.”
– Gus, Lonesome Dove

"What have I got to be worked up about? I've only got a stole horse; everybody except the Coast Guard is after me; I've got nothin' but miles of open country to cross; and now I'm carrying a crazy woman around wearin' shoes from Bloomingbird's who thinks she's seen a rattlesnake roundup.”
– Sonny, The Electric Horseman
